Encounter with Lia Rumma Gallery
March-June 2010
The Encounter with Lia Rumma opens a series of appointments with some of the most important international art dealers.
I proposed my own personal selection of the artists represented by Lia Rumma, who has affirmed herself internationally by working with major Italian and international artists since the Sixties. She inaugurated the Naples gallery in 1971 with a personal exhibition of Joseph Kosuth, continuing through the Seventies with protagonists of Arte Povera, Land Art, Minimal Art and Conceptual Art. Between the Seventies and the Nineties she brought high level artists to Naples, such as: Gilbert & George, Alberto Burri, Gino De Dominicis, Anselm Kiefer, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Andreas Gurski.
In 1999 she opened the Milan gallery with Enrico Castellani, followed by Anselm Kiefer, Vanessa Beecroft, William Kentridge, Shirin Neshat, Marina Abramovic and Alfredo Jaar, amongst others. In 2010 she inaugurated the new, outstanding space in Milan with Ettore Spalletti.
